Contracting entities

Capitalis contracts through one entity per region. The entity named in the sale and purchase agreement is the party to the contract, the party paid under it, and the beneficiary named on any instrument. No other company in the group is a party to it. The authorised signatory for the contracting entity is named to the counterparty before binding terms. Contracts are executed by an authorised officer of the entity named in them.

Scope of this website

Capitalis Trading Solutions contracts as principal for physical distillates and fuel oil. Information on this website is general, describes the desk’s requirements and process, and is not an offer capable of acceptance. Every transaction proceeds on an executed sale and purchase agreement. Capitalis buys and sells for its own account and provides no brokerage, advisory, sourcing or logistics services to third parties. Nothing on this website constitutes legal, tax, regulatory or investment advice, and nothing describes a position, a spread or a price target.

Commercial discipline

Capitalis does not issue or forward terminal documentation it has not obtained directly. Storage is evidenced by confirmation obtained from the terminal operator on the seller’s authorisation. Product documentation is exchanged after signature and completed onboarding. Proof of funds and payment instruments move bank to bank. No payment before proof of product. Capitalis does not pay for a cargo before proof of product, and no buyer pays Capitalis before it.

Third parties

Capitalis does not publish third-party banking, terminal or logistics relationships. Where confirmation is appropriate, it is arranged directly between the relevant party and the counterparty. Standards and price assessments named on this website (EN 590, ASTM D1655, DEF STAN 91-091, ASTM D396, ISO 8217, Platts, Argus) are cited by name; their content is licensed by their publishers and is not reproduced here.

Accuracy and availability

We aim to keep website information accurate and current, and state the date of the last review in the footer, but do not warrant that it is complete, error-free or suitable for a specific transaction. Product availability, specifications, quantities and delivery terms are confirmed in the sale and purchase agreement, not on this website.
